I got this recipe from my friend Jennifer. If you don't already have this recipe, then you are definitely gonna need to keep this one! This simple cake is so tasty and moist! Not only does it make a great dessert, it also makes for a great treat to go along with a cup of coffee or tea! You can warm up any leftovers in the microwave for a few seconds...delish!! This cake will quickly become a family favorite!! Enjoy!
Honey Bun Cake
1 box Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2/3 cups of water
1 cup sour cream
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Icing:
2 cups powdered sugar
4 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Heat oven to 325°F. Grease a 13x9-inch cake pan with baking spray.
In a large bowl, beat cake mix, oil, eggs, water and sour cream with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Spread half of the batter in the pan.
In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the batter in the pan. Carefully spread the remaining batter evenly over the cinnamon mixture and take a knife to swirl the mix.
Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
While the cake is baking in a small bowl, stir powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until thin enough to spread. I like to poke holes in the cake and then spread powdered sugar mixture over the hot cake. Enjoy!
I wanted to make this over the holidays and couldn’t find my recipe. Thanks for posting this one!
